Blog #6 --- DIIGO and Web 2.0
I'll be honest I really don't like Diigo right now. It is definitely one of those things where you need to use it more and learn how to use and navigate it before you begin to like it maybe. When I was uploading stuff to Diigo, I'm not sure if the group can see it or not, cause all it did was show up on the main screen. Then when I'm annotating and sticky noting a page on Diigo, it doesn't differentiate, it's just the same icon on the two highlighted things that I annotated and sticky noted. I don't know, we'll see about Diigo. I just know I won't be using it in my future outside my educational career.
Blogging is super easy. I can type-talk however I want and I can say and talk about whatever I want to say or talk about. I just don't do it recreationally cause I lose interest easily and I can't sit in front of a computer for a long time. I like moving around and being outside. The pros of blogging is that it's an outlet and you have the option to keep it personal, like a diary almost. The cons are if you have a following you need to keep up with your content and your consistency about uploading and publishing. Another con is you really want to be a successful blogger, you need to be patient and you need to accept the possibility that your blog won't pick up and you will have to face rejection. Oops!
So, Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is are "tools" developed for and on the internet. They are very commonly websites and other things that allow people to view what others post and be able to produce or create their own stuff and sharing that property. So an example is Wikipedia! I love this site because it essentially has everything you might want to learn about. Yes, sometimes I look for something on Wikipedia and there isn't a wiki for it, but it might be listed or created under a different name! Teachers always tell you not to use Wikipedia cause it's unreliable and anyone can go in and change stuff, but there are citations that you can cross reference and you can always copy and paste to make sure that something is true onto Google. I can get lost into Wikipedia, especially about serial killers and cults and myths or legends. I just love Wiki.

I appreciate your honesty about Diigo :) It definitely takes some getting used to!
